Melvin Sternberg has been practicing family law in Arizona for decades – the youngest lawyer to pass the bar in Arizona at that time. Mr. Sternberg specializes in complex family law matters involving child custody and access, relocation, child support, spousal maintenance and the division of community assets and liabilities. Having an extensive background in accounting, finance and business has enabled Mr. Sternberg to successfully litigate numerous complex and high value cases over the years which have required the use of custody evaluations, business valuations and forensic accounting. Mr. Sternberg also has extensive experience and is an expert in cases involving complex family law issues, including accounting and tax issues.

Mr. Sternberg graduated from Arizona State University with a BS in Accounting. He then went on to earn his Juris Doctorate from the University of Arizona as the youngest graduate in his class. Mr. Sternberg has been a certified specialist in Domestic Relations since 1992 and is rated “AV” by Martindale-Hubbell. 
Mr. Sternberg has extensive experience litigating complex family law cases involving complicated custody maters, business valuations and tax issues.  He was named as one of the “Best Southwest Super Lawyer for 2010” by Superlawyers.com (read more...) and named by the American Institute of Trial Lawyers as the Litigator of the year in 2020.
Mr. Sternberg also has extensive judicial experience having served as a Judge Pro Tempore for the Maricopa County Superior Court for decades, as well as a Family Law Master and Arbitrator. Mr. Sternberg has adjudicated numerous proceedings as a Family Law Master on behalf of parties seeking a quick resolution by a professional capable of deciding complex custody and financial issues. He has been recognized by the Arizona Supreme Court for his efforts in Alternative Dispute Resolution.
 
He has been honored by the State Bar of Arizona for Lifetime Contributions to the field of family law, by the Arizona Bar Foundation and by Who’s Who in American Law.
